We live in a world where “the whole truth and nothing but the truth” is just a line used to fill up space in an oath you take in court. It doesn’t seem to mean much any more. These days companies get by while telling their employees half truth’s enough to keep them coming to work. Meanwhile the 40 hour work week is now pretty much considered “part time.”

Being a truck driver the past 25 years I’ve had my fair share of 40+ work weeks. Companies in the United States just keep pushing more productivity out of employees for less compensation pay wise and benefit wise. I used to have great company benefits until Obama Care came along. I lost the doctor I was promised I could keep, my premiums went up and the costs of prescriptions went up. How is that so? Obama said it was going to be better and more affordable for everyone didn’t he? Oh yeah I forgot….politicians don’t live on the truth anymore. The media has brainwashed society so much that a politician lies straight to your face with overwhelming evidence that they’re in the wrong and we’re supposed to believe it. And if you don’t believe it, you’ll be given a label like “racist,””conspiracy theorist,” “Whacko” you name it. It’s the shame label meant to keep you quiet and too embarrassed to fight back.

I’ve given plenty of names in this blog for the people responsible for our quality of lives these days. But still, I get very few hits of readers that I guess simply fail to believe it’s really happening like I, and many many others, are saying.

This isn’t going to be a political blog, it’s meant to be something else. But I can’t get away completely from the politics because it’s changed in the recent years and people don’t seem to be paying attention, or just don’t care. And that in itself is part of the brainwashing meant to keep your attention away from it. The media wants you to be pissed at the Confederate flag, racist “Islamaphobes,” cop killers, lying politicians, anything and everything but what is going on.

I try not to write when I’m feeling the angst I’m feeling about the world now. But then long periods of time go by before I write anything. I stay embedded in a world of discontent and hate most of the time. Not by choice. But because I’m surrounded by it. And I hate to turn my back to it and forget it’s not there. There is a saying I believe in heavily. “Keep your friends close, your enemies, closer.”

On the bright side, I have my first grandchild being born in the next few weeks. I’ve finally reached an age that seemed sooooo far away to me just twenty years ago. I worry for my grandson. I worry for the world he’s about to come into. But I’m overjoyed that my genes have went to another generation. The cycle of life really is a beautiful thing. It’s amazing.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I must get some sleep before my 26 hour long shift. God bless the USA!
